Starting something new is always a little daunting … but thanks to the incredibly warm and welcoming staff, students and community I could not be happier to begin my teaching career here at CCSC.
Sport has always been a massive part of my life. From a young age I have been heavily involved in dance, gymnastics, tennis and soccer. In recent years I have also developed a passion for Aerial Gymnastics and CrossFit which takes up almost all of my spare time.
I spent most of my own childhood trying to involve myself in as much as possible and finding my time was very limited. As a result, the idea CCSC puts forward (a well balanced lifestyle where students are learning to navigate a life which allows sport and academics to coexist successfully) jumped out at me immediately. The values and structure of the college day here mirror a lot of my own core beliefs, which makes it an unbeatable place to spend the working week!
Midway through 2017 I completed my Bachelor of Arts/Education (Secondary) at the University of New South Wales. Throughout my degree I was lucky enough to experience a diverse range of colleges, including Matraville Sports High School, Chertsey Primary School, Northlakes High School and Lisarow High School. After university I was offered ongoing teaching blocks with the Department of Education and ET Australia, which also provided me with highly valuable experiences and allowed me to learn a great deal from the staff, mentors and students I was lucky enough to encounter along the way.
I am incredibly excited about the challenges and opportunities that await me here at CCSC and can’t wait to develop a much stronger relationship with the students, staff, families and community.
