This year the cafe was lucky enough to be included in the college camps.
While this brought about some challenges we believe it was well worth it. I think Chef Ash had just as much fun as the students did.
I would like to give you some stats from the camp:
- Approximately 1890 meals produced for the three camps
- Three mountainside treks
- Nine fish caught and cooked by students and staff (biggest fish goes to a Year 5 student)
- Almost 100kg of fresh fruit consumed
The menu for the camp was as follows:
- Hot dogs with tasty cheese and sauce
- Beef nachos with tomato salsa, sour cream and tasty cheese
- Scrambled eggs, cereal, toast and spreads
- Beef burgers with sliced tomato, pineapple rings, lettuce, tasty cheese, sauce and plain chips
- Chicken skewers, sausages, fried onions, diced beetroot, potato salad, coleslaw, bread, sauce and slab cake
- Scrambled eggs, baked beans, cereal, toasted cheese sandwiches
- Wraps with chicken, leg ham, salad, assorted bars and leftovers
- Whole fruit and cold water was also on hand.
