It’s that time of year again. As Term 3 draws to a close, some students excitedly wait for the two weeks of holidays. For our Year 12 students, mixed feelings about the ‘holidays’ are prevalent. Not only are they faced with weeks of study for their imminent HSC, they face the realisation of nearing the end of their college journey. Some students cannot wait to be on their way, a new road mapped ahead for them to explore. Others feel sadness, unsure of what life beyond their day to day college life will bring. As their teacher, I too feel a little sadness. We spend many hours with our students. We share a small part of their lives, a unique opportunity being a teacher allows. We watch them grow through their experiences and help them develop into the young adults they are becoming. As the outgoing Year 12 tackle their own road ahead, my road here will also change. I have enjoyed your spirit and your company throughout the highs and the lows of your learning. I will indeed miss my ‘little birds’ now it is time for them to fly. Good luck Year 12, the world awaits.
