After months of planning and finalising a competitive roster, IFS futsal preseason has finally commenced for the 16 Boys. We will be competing in the NSW State League this summer and are hoping to bring a competitive and inspiring influence. The team consists of students from Stage 5 which shows the depth within the college to field such a quality squad.
This season of futsal gives the squad an insight in how to prepare and compete in matches at a high level of which recovery, match analysis, game preparation and playing are at the forefront. The squad understand there are high expectations surrounding squad mentality and effort, which hopefully will give us a competitive edge throughout the season. The team’s philosophy is defined by one simple yet powerful phrase; mentally tougher, physically stronger and technically better.
Our first two sessions have been completed in preparation for the first preseason hit-out this coming weekend, with a focus on setting up without the ball and our roles when the opposition is in possession. This is the start of a training cycle that will prepare our players for all facets of the game. I am excited at the potential progression of these players as they are all focused, passionate, hard workers who like myself, don’t mind to have a laugh at the right time.
Overall, this will be an exciting experience for all involved. Watch this space for season updates!
