Wow! What a blur of excitement the last few weeks have been!
I have loved joining the teaching crew at CCSC, getting to know motivated staff and engaging with students of all ages from K-Year 12. CCSC is a college where passion is ignited and explored and it is a very exciting and rewarding place to work. I have left a permanent role at Wadalba Community School where for the last few years I have been teaching Kindergarten and Year 1. I love foundational learning where my role as teacher is of high importance, sharing with students my love of learning and facilitating their journey into college as a positive one. Kindergarten is a very important year for the students. Learning and being part of a year where change is necessary and one that at times can be confronting. It is a year that for parents can also be very difficult – you are placing your child in the hands of someone who does have your child’s best interests at heart but relationships take time and that level of trust needs to be built quickly. I love teaching Kindergarten. Having two children who are older and don’t need me in the same way they used to, I love being able to give time to our smallest of learners, exploring their interests and abilities with the hands on learning CCSC offers.
Prior to teaching, I worked with youth where I was supporting young adults to make informed choices and offering guidance for those who needed assistance. I have grown up on the Central Coast and know first hand some of the difficulties that our children can come up against. The support CCSC offers our students is phenomenal, not only are we supporting and challenging sporting abilities, educational interests and hands-on learning, we are also encouraging and advocating emotionally to ensure all students have a place where they feel like they belong and are safe. School should be a fun place to come, a place where you can be yourself and stand out. I love working where our students are encouraged to be individuals, and where we recognise and advocate for inclusivity and appreciate the differences we all share.

Love your enthusiasm for what you do Resli, knowing you as we do, you will make a world of difference to all of the children that come under your care now and well into the future. Sounds like you have settled in very well and have your plans well and truly in place.
