First of all I would like to welcome year seven students to High School at IFS. The transition to High School is an exciting time for students, and I can already see that our IFS students are well prepared and ready for the challenge.
Stage four Mathematics is well underway. Students are focusing on the learning of length, area and volume this term. So far, the students are learning the theories and formulae for length well. I hope to get students outside to put their knowledge into practice as soon as possible.
Stage four Science will be focusing on physics when it starts in week six. Students will be looking at the science behind the perfect shot or serve. We will also be making maximum use of the Schools new science laboratory, studying electrical forces and friction.
I cannot thank Paul and Laura enough for the work they put into to making a functioning Science lab a reality. It just makes the learning of Science so much more exciting.
My next blog will be on the college camp. I lent my GoPro to some students to do some activities. There is certainly some “interesting” footage!
Good luck to all students and families who are partaking in pre-season training. It’s worth all the hard work- Science says so anyway!
