Here at IFS the teaching staff have been focused on reworking our current Student Code of Conduct. We wanted the code to have a real and relevant connection to the context of our college. In our search, we found the Code of Respect used at the Andre Agassi College Prepatory Program. Yes, you read correctly, Andre Agassi has established a college, through his foundation. Agassi believes that education is
“the key to opportunity because by giving our kids options, education gives them the freedom to shape their future.”
Here is an elite athlete who reached the top of his sport at the cost of his education. It’s something that has stayed with Agassi and through his foundation, he works hard to provide disadvantaged children with educational opportunities.
Inspired by the Andre Agassi College Prepatory Program, we have adopted their Code of Respect to become our Student Code of Conduct.
IFS STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT
Central Coast Sports College believes that for the college to be effective, it should provide a safe and happy learning environment which meets the needs of our students at all levels of their college life.
At the centre of ensuring a safe and happy learning environment, is the core value of respect. Respect is an attitude that begins at home, is reinforced in college and is applied throughout life.
The essence of good self discipline is respect:
- Respect for self
- Respect for others
- Respect for the authority of parents, teachers and coaches
- Respect for the college
Respect for self is shown by:
- Wearing appropriate clothing
- Using proper language
- Behaving safely
- Keeping your word
Respect for others is shown by:
- Communicating in a polite, supportive and friendly manner
- Taking into account the needs and feelings of others as well as your own
- Allowing others to enjoy their personal space and property
Respect for authority is shown by:
- Listening carefully and quietly
- Being on time, prepared and ready to learn
- Accepting personal responsibility for your actions
- Accepting personal responsibility for your learning
Respect for the college is shown by:
- Following and knowing the policies and guidelines of our college
- Considering the possible outcomes in making decisions
- Realising that different situations create different expectations
Our student Code of Conduct is inspired by, and accredited to, the Andre Agassi College Prepatory Academy.

This is excellent – very clear and succinct. Just another reason why I am an AA fan 🙂 Kudos to IFS_ITS for adopting this.
