I read with interest Andre’s comments from the Broadmeadow Magic tournament last week, especially his remarks about our supporters. There is no doubt that supporters come in all sizes and descriptions – your mother/father, the football fan, a protester. They all follow and support someone or something and all are somewhat influential to the outcome.
Football supporters are as essential to the success of the team as the players and coaching staff. The actions of supporters during the game can motivate the team, sometimes intimidate the opposition and perhaps even influence decisions. This is true of the mother/father, football fan or the protester.
Without supporters, we are but one. With them, anything is possible.
IFS has many supporters, without whom we would not be in the position we are today. Our cafe’ volunteers, the local fire brigade who help us out, local tradespeople and the parents of our students. Nearing the end of first term may not seem a relevant time to thank all these people, but I think it’s as good a time as any other. So, to our supporters, thank you all.

Thanks Julie, very true.
Supporting our boys and IFS is so easy, i feel priveledged to be a part and totally enjoyed the Broadmeadow tournament. Andre’s effort and commitment was outstanding and it was just good fun.
Us parents enjoyed starting the chant ,”we are IFS”( to the embarrassment of our children) to get the boys revved up after a what seemed to be a lul in their enthusiasm, they won the next game and came off the field chanting, “we are IFS”.
Looking forward to many more opportunities to be a supporter.

Supporters are the lifeblood of the game and their memories are as cherished as the players and coaches – the highs, the lows, and all the quirky moments that one goes through over the years, not just with the players themselves but with the friends and families of those whom we follow….it’s a great time in our lives being involved even long after one era has passed …. the friendships linger on and we move on to follow the next generation…….and so it goes….
