The International Tennis School program is in full swing with a greater than 300% increase in students so far for this year.
Our playing roster is made up of students from years 3 through to year 10, with ability levels ranging from highly ranked national players to beginner hot shot players.
The buzz from all players is excellent.
The Australian Open was a magnificent event this year with Li Na capturing the women’s event and the Stanimal, Stan Warinka, walking away with the men’s title. Neither player was mentioned in the tournament lead up as a potential winner, so to see them battle their way through seven rounds and take the $2.65 million prize cheque was a spectacle in itself.
Yes, you read correctly… $2.65 million winners cheque for two weeks work!!!
Or was it just two weeks work??
Stan Warinka and Li Na began playing tennis from a very young age. Thousands upon thousands of hours have been poured into their tennis games. Endless drills, countless forehands and backhands, millions of serves, miles upon miles upon miles of road work, sit-ups, push-ups, hill climbs, foam rollers, volleys, smashes, skipping ropes, weights, body testings and much more formed their tennis make-up.
The Australian Open is Stan’s first grand slam title and Li Na’s second. Neither player regrets a minute of those hours spent training – their smiles proved that as they lifted the winner’s trophies high into the Melbourne air. Both players acknowledged the endless hours of hard work they have put in to reach their dreams, with their journeys far from over.
Tennis, football and life take endless hours to succeed. Countless failures (both Li Na & Warinka have suffered heartbreaking losses in big tennis matches), countless victories, loads of hard work and a total dedication to be the best you can be, are all part of the journey to perfect our craft. Even then there is still more to do.
All our players at the International Tennis School have an amazing opportunity to create their tennis futures. I am loving the way that each one of them is showing me and my coaching staff what they are capable of achieving. Week two and we are on track for an amazing year.
Great effort from all in our first week and bit. The hours of hard work will seem like a blip on the radar when you reach your dreams, no matter what they are. Have fun and keep up the great work.
Cheers
Greg
