The US Open Tennis is underway in New York and stands as one of the great sporting events of the year. The crowds are amazing, the noise is never ending, the players are striving for greatness and our Aussies are keen for a slice of what the Big Apple has to offer – a US Open trophy.
All the preparation is complete. The lead-up tournaments are over. The running, the skipping, the sprinting, the biking, the weights and the nutrition all done. The players are there for one purpose – to perform at their highest level.
Novac Djocovic stated in his interview that he felt “Fully ready for the event.” He had spent the previous ten days in final preparation. Why? Well apart from it being the final tennis major of the year, this is the one thing he has total control over. He can’t control the noise, the wind, the crowds, the planes or the draw, but he can 100% control his preparation. Preparation is the key to success and high performance.
Djocovic is number one in the world. Nadal is there, Murray and Federer too. Serena is there as well as Stephens and Azarenka. All these champions have prepared. They will be there in the final few days of the Open.
Watch them perform and take stock of how you prepare!
Yours in Tennis.
