I have been teaching for the past 11 years, in the UK and on the Central Coast I have been part of several colleges and have witnessed a variety of teaching approaches, each valid in its own right. I do feel that I benefitted immensely from these experiences, however felt that my teaching had become stale. When the opportunity to join Central Coast Sports College arose I was delighted. New to Project Based Learning and all it has to offer I began researching and quickly became a fan of this method for teaching; keeping it fresh and current. This opportunity came at a time in my life where I was seeking a personal challenge to have ownership over having just sent my youngest son off to kindy! I play football locally myself as do my children and it is a large part of our leisure time. In terms of combining football with education I did not need to question this. What a fantastic opportunity to give like-minded students, who share a passion for the game an enriching experience and thirst for learning. I know how much energy Paul and the rest of the staff have put into building IFS and to be part of this from the beginning is truly a privilege. I am excited about the opportunities IFS has to offer its students and truly believe we are witnessing something astounding.
