Growing up on a farm 400km west of Sydney with an average rainfall of 526mm gave me an appreciation for rain. Gosford had more rain today than my parents have had in total this year.
Out there it is your livelihood. The topic of weather is often the start of every conversation, fills any awkward silence and is just the general reason for contacting a person for a conversation in the first place. My wife still finds it funny when my mum texts her just to ask about the weather up here.
While most may be cursing this weather, spare a thought for those out west who are looking for rain to support their families and Australia’s agricultural industry.
Also hats off to the tennis and football coaches for their variety of training sessions during the wet weather and let’s hope once the football season starts, the sun comes out and the kids can play!
Gosford March rainfall to date (01/03/2017 – 16/03/2017) 192.2mm

Hi Cameron, What you said resonates with me, I’m a farm girl from way back and rain is always good, filling up the tanks, grass growing, feed for stock etc, but just not so great when shearing is on! I’m a graziers daughter from out near Yass and I remember my lovely father stressing out when we couldn’t get the sheep over the creek that was flooded. Thanks for reminding me of something that I thought ( at the time ) so annoying, but now I think of with great fondness, cheers, Judy burton
