For the start of term 1 our ITS primary and high college students have been working very hard testing their athletic ability and tennis techniques and have already been to Sydney for a representative college trial day. Some of the tasks the students have completed include 5 minute runs, beep tests, core exercise challenges and our great strength and conditioning program run by Jason Haywood. We have also been doing our special levels-based grading system to rate all players’ tennis abilities. It has been a great start to the year with maximum effort and commitment from all involved! As mentioned above, along with our huge start to training for the year, last week some of our ITS primary students trialed for the representative ASISSA (All Suburbs Independent Schools Sports Association) teams in Sydney. All who were involved played extremely well and were a credit to themselves and ITS.The great news is several students were selected to represent ASISSA and moved on to the next stage. They are: Leon Towle, Riyadh Hammerli, Sophie Foster, Jessica Jeong and Steph Azzopardi.A great reward for the hard work to start the year for these players! We wish them all the best of luck at the next stage.
