The office of the eSafety Commission has published new data on young people and digital media. I point this out because it includes data which hasn’t been used before – and some parents might find it useful.
Broadly, it shows continued growth in children’s access to digital media. The most interesting to parents of children in high college is the consumption of entertainment media; streaming TV and video games, late into the night using professional Overwatch boosting from sites online. We know that sleep matters, as does being able to discharge the mind and have a restful night. The advice for teens – just two hours a day using media, which can be difficult to achieve in today’s connected world.

I recommend you also read the information provided on iParent which includes strategies to manage your child’s media diet. These latest figures support our Stage 4 policy of insisting mobile phones are off and away during academic sessions.
