As football becomes a more renown sport in Australia, the possibility and opportunity of one day becoming a professional footballer is becoming less and less. This does not mean that individuals are becoming less talented but rather it takes a great deal more to “make it” than it ever has before. That being the case, a solid education and ability to read, write and articulate yourself is even more necessary.
Students at CCSC are absolutely blessed to be given the opportunity to partake in their favourite sports everyday, however for many of them this sport will not necessarily become their future career. Not only is application to education necessary for those who may not make it as professional athletes, but it is also necessary for those who may. Being able to articulate yourself well and having an understanding of all subject areas allows you to become a more informed individual and ultimately a more interesting person to be around. The skills and knowledge gained by students in the classroom are more than just an ability to read, write and do maths. They are lifelong skills, all of which are essential for the future, whether or not students become professional athletes or not. Regardless of your future endeavours and your sporting ability, application to your education is the key to future success.
