The lion, tiger and bear maybe more powerful, however the wolf does not perform in the circus. Our vision at CCSC is to make students the best that they can be, both academically and on either the football pitch or the tennis court. Being the best that you can be starts with embracing your individuality. We have all been created unique with individual characteristics and personalities that essentially underpin who we are.
It often becomes too easy to follow the crowd and get caught up in the “performance” that occurs frequently within our social circles. However, being the best that we can be means staying true to ourselves and who we really are. As entertaining as being the “performer” may be for our friends, it is often unbecoming of those who know that they are capable of better behaviours. While seeking approval of our peers can be at the forefront of many of our actions, this approval may be short-lived and lacking depth. It is about staying true to ourselves, our parents and our family. “Performing” for the entertainment of others does not bring out the best in an individual. If we look to the idiom, we all, like the lion, tiger, bear and wolf, can be powerful, however it is about how we utilise that power and how easily we can be manipulated. It is also about how those around us use that power to their own end.
Stay true to yourself like the wolf, don’t be so willing to entertain those around you and in turn allow them to have power over you. Being the best you can be starts with you; it starts with embracing who you were meant to be and not passing time entertaining the crowd.
