2016 saw the first IFS Kindergarten class begin.
The group is made up of 12 students led by teachers Peta and Bam.
The first ever ITS Kindy tennis program has seen the students focus on fundamental perceptual motor skills like striking, catching, throwing, running and also basic tennis skills and techniques.
The students have learnt a huge amount this term with most starting as absolute beginners and all improving enormously.
We now have kids hitting forehands, backhands, volleys, serves and rallying with the coach with a record of 12 shots between Khan and Tully and Khan and Jack.
There’s always a huge amount of energy and fun but the students have also become much more focused and their ability to listen and follow instructions has improved. They have progressed so much we have even been able to get them to do some drills, working together in teams.
The Kindy tennis program has been fantastic and has achieved a lot more than I expected in the first term.
So if you see any of our Kindy students ask them about their Starfish forehands and how to finish a swing with a Big Nose!
The photo is of the kids on a drink break on a hot day – not how we transport them at ITS !!
