Last Friday, our Primary House Captains were elected and carried out their first duties in organising the primary swimming relay teams and coming up with some chants and songs for the carnival the following Monday. With little time to prepare, I wanted to use this forum to congratulate those Primary House Captains for an excellent start to their roles during the swimming carnival this week. Given that the Senior House Captains were busy with assisting in the running of the event, it was up to the primary captains to motivate, encourage and lift their respective teams – and lift them they did!! I was thoroughly impressed at their enthusiasm toward the role and the way they conducted themselves as leaders, which meant that the rest of their teams followed. It was also amazing to see those students who stepped up throughout the day to help their house captains or to fill in for those captains who couldn’t make it. Well done!!
The announcement of the Primary House Captains at our camp!
The participation of all students in the swimming carnival was outstanding – even those who didn’t swim were involved in encouraging and supporting their fellow teammates, with some needing that little extra support and motivation to give it a go or calm the nerves. It was my first swimming carnival and the students made it a wonderfully fun and exciting day! I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them, cheering on our teammates and nurturing our team spirit.
P.S. GOOOO CHAPMANNNNN!!!!!
