CCSC officially has a women’s football program!
The college has always provided a good environment for girls to train with the boys during the week with most thriving on the challenge.
With the growing number of female footballers in the college, we feel like it’s the perfect time to bring the girls together and recognise women’s football in its own right.
We will introduce dedicated all-girls sessions in the weekly schedule whilst still providing mixed sessions to further challenging situations (and challenge the boys!)
Often I hear the question, “Is it better for a girl to train with boys or girls?”
My answer is, “each to their own, where the player thrives the most.”
I hope there are a few girls that would like to play at the highest level with the boys and also hope to one day see a few girls in at least the Joeys (Australian ‘male’ Under 17s team). But I also love the women’s game and it’s certainly a different environment and challenging in its own right.
I am personally excited to work with the girls and help them enjoy the camaraderie of supporting each other as teammates and building a sense of confidence and purpose through their football as girls.
We hope to build a lot of pride in the program so that more girls will want to be a part of it and we can grow to equal numbers with the boys at CCSC one day!
Awesome stuff. Well done Joey, Dan and Julie for making this happen.
