The sun shone and the temperature was high on Friday as Stage 4 threw their backpacks on and headed out on the Bouddi Coastal Walk from Putty Beach to Little Beach. Not put off by the rising mercury, we trekked through this beautiful national park, stopping for a well earned rest and rehydration at Maitland Bay. The second leg of the trek saw us climb steps, more steps, even more steps with shouts from all, “oh no way..there’s more” steps! Credit to everyone, they climbed, they puffed, they huffed but did not give up. Not one of them!
The Bouddi National Park is phenomenal – the perfect location for the Stage 4 geographers to observe the natural and human elements present in an exposed landscape which is the focus of their current geography project. If you have not been, I recommend a visit.
All in Stage 4 put in an awesome effort; their spirits were high, they supported and encouraged each other along the way. It was a fantastic outdoor learning trip and one which the students will no doubt remember for years to come. Memorable not only for the dolphins playing in Maitland Bay, the sweat, the tired legs, the steps and more steps, but also for those deliciously cold ice blocks which were waiting for us upon our return!
