This year at IFS we have seen stage 4 students design and construct wooden boxes. The fabulous designs were outstanding and full of vibrance and creativity. We also had a wonderful integrated project between Japanese and food tech, with the end result being IFS sushi.
Both of these projects were exciting and fun and term 4 technology has been no let-down either.
The theme for this term has been ‘change’ and throughout our subjects we have looked at climate change, particle change, changes through puberty and now we are looking at the change of material use.
If you have read Bec’s blog this week you will know that stage 4 students have been working very hard at writing and directing their own play focused on the driving question: “How can we as adolescents represent and understand the changing world we are experiencing?” Students have been busy this week creating some of their costumes and props for the play, with the designs aimed at producing items that come from a life as something else.
I have been amazed at the imagination and concentration the students have shown. They are being challenged to learn new skills and solve problems. I can’t wait to see them all on stage. My question to you is, can you tell which items have been made by their own fair hands?
