Stage 4 students have started their Food Technology project which sees them focusing on the cultural eating habits of the Japanese. Within a fully integrated Tech and Japanese project, students have to design and produce a cookbook, understand how to measure, prepare and cook various Japanese dishes as well as be able to order and serve customers using Japanese phrases.
Last week we went on a field trip to Crave Sushi in Terrigal where students experienced a variety of authentic Japanese cuisine. They then had to rate each dish using their ‘master chef’ score sheets before deciding upon their favourite and gaining inspiration for what they can actually produce in the college cafe to serve to their peers.
