Will it be Zeus, will it be Hercules, will it be Plato? For the last six weeks stage 4 students have been working in their teams to answer this driving question. They have taken a journey from IFS, Australia to Ancient Greece. They have visited Olympia and discovered why it is a world heritage site. They have met many mythological people and made friend with Zeus, Hercules, Alexander the Great, Plato and many more significant figures from the Ancient Greek time.
Last Friday students selected their own events from the Ancient Greek Olympics to participate in. They decided how they were going to inform others about their discovery. Some invited the primary students to participate in the events, some made board games and some had fun performing the events themselves.
All teams are working on developing an advertisement to persuade their audience to visit Ancient Greece and to take a tour to Olympia. All students will deliver a speech tomorrow, the last day of our project, and I am excited to find out who they believe deserves the olive wreath.
