I have been named Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Philipines Youth National Football Team and I will be away on this assignment for the first four weeks of term 3. I am responsible for designing and facilitating strength and conditioning and injury prevention programs for the players. The team is participating in a tournament in Singapore and the ASEAN Youth Football Championship in Brunei.
I will be measuring the players’ performance in every match and adjusting my training program accordingly, with a focus on injury prevention and peak performance.
This experience will be very valuable for me and it can only benefit IFS students. I will be able to apply my training and conditioning principles, the same training regime that my students at IFS experience everyday, for a national team in an international football competition.
I hope all the students involved in my strength and conditioning programs at college, as well as the program that I offer online for them through the college (which every student at IFS can use) continue working hard to achieve their dreams. I will be checking this while I’m away.
I also hope students and parents appreciate the opportunities on offer to them at our college and the work that everyone at IFS is doing for youth football development in Australia.
So keep working, as I will be doing performance assessments when I return to the college.
