Another term is coming to an end and what a busy one it has been. I believe that most of the students are becoming better eaters and are less nervous about trying different foods.
Over the past couple of weeks we in the cafe have been encouraging the students to make better food choices themselves rather than forcing them to try things. Often students are seeing their friends eating something new for lunch and then coming back to try it for themselves after they had already chosen not to eat it.
On the last day of term, stage 2 is having a Parents Hands On Day and it looks like being a very busy day. My regular parent helper is unable to help so I’m putting the call out for any new parent helpers to volunteer on just that day, or maybe try it and then help out on a regular basis. Normally it’s about 10.00am till 2.30pm but on the last day of college 9.30am start would be great. If anyone is interested please email me at cafe@ccsc.nsw.edu.au

Ingredient in the spotlight: Kale
A dark, leafy green from the same vegetable family as broccoli and brussel sprouts. Kale contains high amounts of beta carotene, iron and folate. It’s also a low-calorie, low-carb source of protein that’s packed with fibre which improves digestive health and helps you feel full. A cupful of kale provides half of your daily vitamin C requirement. It can also help ease lung congestion and is beneficial to your stomach, liver and immune system. It’s an excellent source of multiple vitamins and other nutrients.
