Last Thursday at Niagara Park was buzzing with teams of players competing for a place in round two of the NSW Futsal Competition. It was a great opportunity for me to see what the IFS students in years 9, 10 and 11 had been in training for. I had been allocated team coach for the U16 girls – Nicole, Emily, Tayla, Tamar, Shantel and, in the final, Jessie. The girls were on a mission and determined to attack at every opportunity. It was so nice to observe them outside of the classroom and gain an appreciation for their talents. I was immensely proud that they all came together as a team to defend and attack in the spirit of IFS. The girls won the first three games comfortably. The fourth game against Mackillop saw their first defeat and an injury to Nicole. They won their semi final and met Mackillop in the final again. This time there was no stopping them and after a hard fought game they came out as champions. The girls were exceptional in all aspects of the day and I wish them the best of luck in the next round. I have included a short movie with highlights from the games, enjoy!
That was a great day & great presentation Sally!!
