This week at the International Tennis School we launched the inaugural ITS Cup.
After three solid weeks of training and scouting, Ivan and I have formed the four teams to take part in our in-house competition. The players are still buzzing from the announcement of the ITS Cup event and are eager to get underway.
Here’s a brief overview of the ITS Cup and how it works:
- The event consists of four teams with a team manager and team franchise owner.
- Each ITS Cup team has been assigned a playing captain, who is responsible for the cohesion of his/her team.
- Each ITS Cup team has been assigned a #1, #2, #3 and #4 player.
- Our youngest ITS player, from year 3, has been assigned the highly prestigious role of ‘Roving Star’. She will play for every team and teach them how to play a ‘Hot Shots Tennis Match’.
- Each week teams will play an ITS Cup match consisting of singles and doubles matches/rubbers.
- Matches are played for ITS Cup fantasy prize-money and ITS Cup fantasy points.
- Each round has been assigned set amounts of fantasy prize-money and fantasy points based on each player’s team position.
- At the completion of each three ITS Cup rounds, there is an ITS Cup SLAM Round worth huge fantasy prize-money and fantasy points.
- Players create, through competition, their own fantasy value and fantasy ranking based on fantasy points. These individual fantasy values help determine the overall team fantasy value.
- One of the key features of the ITS Cup event is each players’ opportunity to display their leadership and personal development qualities.
- Fantasy ITS Cup team sponsors are assigned after round one and bonus fantasy team money can be earned through:
* Team effort
* Player effort
* Player improvement
* Displaying commitment to our ITS Motto: One percent improvement everyday and take no short cuts.
* Team support and motivation
* Sportsmanship
* Team leadership
Round one awaits, more to come so stay tuned to our blogs.
Make sure to ask your player about the ITS Cup!
