My desire to be a professional footballer is influenced by many life factors – sacrifices, studies, training, playing and injuries, to name a few. My daily routine, social environment and activities influence my mental and physical performances every minute I choose not to be in it.
During any given training session and game I need to be focused on my task, my team task and our objectives. My football ability can be measured by my attitude and the effort I choose to apply during training and playing and my ability to listen to instructions from my coaches and football colleagues.
A game of football is ninety minutes – two halves of forty-five minutes plus added time. The game has been described as “Ninety minutes, ninety emotions.” How true! My mental aspect influences my ninety emotions if I choose to switch off for even one minute. For every minute I am not in it, I lose focus and concentration – that is the difference between the great and poor decisions I may make.
I need to be mentally and physically engaged in every game for every minute to be in it! My mental preparation must be first class every moment I am playing, training and performing.
Great footballers must possess many physical skills in order to be successful, but what are some of the mental aspects that impact their physical performances?
Great attitude
Fair play
Application
Desire to win
Discipline
Be a good role model
Influence others to do better
Focus on individual and team tasks
Do my very best!
These are my mental attributes. They complement the physical attributes I developed during my youth years of football.
How often is a game of football won in the last minute or extra time? Too many to mention! The question is? Am I that special player who will win it in one minute? The choice will be mine!

Thankyou Danny.
When I finish reading this text I realised that I have to sacrifice my own club training time to represent the college in matches, I think it’s very important to sacrifice my own time to represent the college so I would meet more people, coaches and experience playing with or against play that is better and stronger than me
Thank you so much Danny 🙂
