Reflecting on the start of the second year of IFS, I come to consider – what are our core responsibilities as a college? What makes us different and why have parents chosen to entrust us with their child’s development?
Yes, I know the obvious reason many come is for our football and tennis programs, yet we go so much further with our expectations of our students and staff. We are striving to develop the future leaders of our community, those who will inspire, innovate and create. We want mentors and role models for our students to aspire to, to seek to work and play with. Sitting in our café, eating my lunch today I looked over and saw a new class 3 student enjoying his lunch sitting beside a class 6 student. The younger student seemed so happy and excited to be sharing his meal with his older friend – it literally warmed my heart! What a beautiful moment of perfect humanity!
I look forward to many more instance like this in the coming weeks, months and years – observing our future leaders, inspiring me to continue working to provide this opportunity for many more around the country!
