My name is Will Piriz and I’m a passionate football devotee. My playing days saw me reach semi-professional status in the NSW state league playing alongside and against some great players.
My first coaching role was as a young 21 year old with a local under 10s team in Wollongong. This one season with a group of young players was a great experience. It wasn’t the results, because they weren’t great players, it was the improvement and dedication to one another by the end of the season which inspired me. The feedback and eagerness from both the players and parents had given me a real sense of purpose to pursue a coaching career.
I still play the game for enjoyment but my focus is on coaching. Since my first coaching certification over 10 years ago in the junior ranks I have not looked back. Initially coaching at club level in both junior and senior age groups I moved into Central Coast representative coaching positions after being offered an assistant coaching role with the Central Coast Lightning boys 12s squad in 2010. I have since been head coach with the Central Coast Lightning boys 11s in 2011, Central Coast Mariners Academy boys 15s and 16s during 2012 and 2013.
I have completed the FFA C Licence and I’m currently in the process of completing the FFA B Licence. I have no doubt that football will take me to the places that I have always dreamed and that the reward for hard work at something that one loves to do can be anyone’s dream!
I am very excited about the prospects the Mariners and IFS are bringing to the Central Coast football community. After watching some coaching sessions at IFS and gaining some understanding of what is happening in the football development I was thrilled at the opportunity be involved and take on what can only be described as the most exciting challenge I have received in my coaching career so far.
I look forward to working with an excellent group of coaches and teaching staff at the IFS. And of course I look forward to meeting the students and players of this new and exciting football endeavour.
