After reading this blog spend a couple minutes to watch the video and ask yourself, how badly do you want to succeed in life?
This is a video about a guy who has clearly given everything he can, to be the best that he can be. His aim and goal was to make to NFL. I have followed him for some time now and he has still not been draft picked by a team, but he continues to devote himself to his cause and has found other channels for his commitment and effort.
He started the ‘Take No Days Off’ movement as a company, which inspired me, when I was lacking in motivation. I have as much respect for this guy, who is yet to make it, as I do for other world famous athletes who are at the top of their game.
Some of our students could benefit from the hunger and desire Giovanni Ruffin demonstrates daily – “I’m hungry and determined. When you start from the bottom you always want more. I’m one of the hardest workers you’ll ever meet. I hate losing and I love to win. Everyday, I take the necessary steps to become better for the team and for myself, TAKING NO DAYS OFF.”
He may or may not one day make it as a professional NFL player, but I can assure you, he will make it as a person. He has found that zone where everyday he is able to better himself and pursue his goals, regardless of obstacles, regardless of risk and regardless of past, and possible future, failures.
Once IFS students find the ability to unleash their own potential to the full, that ability will aid them in whichever direction they wish go.
I often say, I am far from the most talented, and far from the most intelligent, yet today I find myself in the job I want, living in the area I want, even though ‘home’ is 1200km away and I’ve only been here for three years. Australia has been kind to me since emigrating but part of that ‘kindness’ I believe is karma for hard work, determination and a ‘can-do’ attitude. When Paul employed me it wasn’t as he read my resume, but after I showed a true hunger to succeed and a desire to take IFS to the next level. Through voluntarily coaching and doing everything I could to make him consider me for the job, I was rewarded with my employment at IFS and I am relishing it.
Being below average isn’t about where you are related to anyone else, it’s about where you are related to yourself. If you have no goals, if you don’t spend much time pursuing them, then you are probably a long way from knowing your limits.
It takes a few simple steps – set your goals, pursue them with belief and don’t allow yourself to make excuses. Whether you reach the goal you are aiming for or not, you will be a better person and closer to being the best that you can be. TAKE NO DAYS OFF!!!
