I’m the first to admit I am musically challenged. I would love to be able to read music and play an instrument although I’ve never had the passion or drive to do so.
For the past few weeks stage 4 students have been completing a music project, something I have been avoiding having to teach. Last week, with Rodney in the primary college, I was left with year 8 music. Thankfully the project had already been given and I just had to make sure the students were on the right track. I was amazed at how musically gifted many of our students are – reading and creating music with a whole lot more knowledge than me.
I suppose my point in this blog is to acknowledge how gifted many of our students are, not only at football but also at academic subjects, including art and music. I encourage all our students to follow their passions on and off the football field and embrace their artistic side if they are lucky enough to have one.
Have they created the ‘college song’ yet?
