Each session we are working towards an objective in relation to the key principles of the game. Recently we’ve been working on being more effective in defending to win the ball, transition quickly for counter attacking opportunities or keep controlled possession with the ball.
The measure of development is when the players have the opportunity to demonstrate their learning at the end of the session in a normal game context and the coach can assess if learning of the objective has taken place.
There’s nothing more fulfilling as a coach, than to see a group of players not only improving in each objective, but seeing all the principles of the game come together over a period of time. This is happening at IFS. The players have really stepped up a level.
Next comes consistency to have the learning become part of their natural game and also discipline to carry out the objectives for the duration of each game.
