I’m currently reading a book called Spark: The Revolutionary New Science of Exercise and the Brain by John J. Ratey.
Scientific research proves that exercise literally remodels our brain for optimum performance. The impact of exercise prior to learning is to prepare our brains for development and creativity. This highlights the great opportunities that children have at IFS – possibly the only college in Australia applying this model of daily structured exercise before engaging in academic work.
While on the topic of academic studies, I am in the second semester of a university course called Graduate Certificate in Sport Coaching, currently studying Coaching Pedagogy, where the emphasis is on sports coaches benefiting from a better understanding of educational theories.
What better place to practice coaching than at the IFS, where coaches and teachers share educational theories, providing a unique learning environment for the students.
