On Friday I travelled to Randwick for the termly Combined Districts School Sports Association (CDSSA) meeting. I’m glad I live on the Coast, the biggest stress for me that day was the roads, but luckily I made it to Emanuel School in good time.
The CDSSA is part of a family of sports associations that organises college sports competitions and trials. Students who win, or are selected from, CDSSA competitions progress to higher level representation and competitions within independent colleges. The meeting provided a good opportunity to meet teachers from colleges we will compete against. Many were intrigued by IFS and I was more than happy to educate them about our college and its achievements so far.
The outcome of the meeting was a jam-packed calendar of sports events ranging from athletics to swimming. We aim to participate in as many of these events as possible, providing our students with plenty of opportunities to progress to higher levels of competition should they choose to. The first event on the calendar is football on 14 August closely followed by athletics on 20 August. I’m looking forward to seeing our students in these events.
If you are wanting to compete in any Water Polo events, I am a water polo coach who could be of assistance. Email me if you are at all interested for a coach for IFS.
