It was six months ago that I had my first day at IFS. I remember clearly the day all staff got together and looked around the campus. It was empty, cold, dirty and uninviting. We set to work cleaning and transporting tables and chairs, within a weeks it was looking like a college. A week after that we were welcoming the first ever students through the doors at IFS.
Happy half birthday IFS!
Two terms later and we are as busy as ever. We welcome another influx of students in most years to join the familiar faces of our previous students. I have been working hard to prepare the work for this coming term and we kick off the projects with History, English, Geography, Science and PDHPE. Within PDHPE I am looking forward to reading The 7 habits of highly effective teens. This book will bring to years 9 and 10 a greater understanding of themselves and others, allowing them to explore how thoughts affect feelings and behaviour and use this to identify opportunities for personal growth. Geography will see us looking at our communities and completing a study on our multicultural community.
I am amazed at how much we have achieved at IFS in just six months and am, once again, excited for this term’s planned activities.
