For the past few weeks I have been tearing my hair out trying to pull together a gymnastic team, from a group of ‘non gymnasts’, ready for the gala day last Friday. Just a few days before the show and the timing was appalling, jumps were too low and balances were regularly collapsing into a heap. Finally, with a few injuries to key members of the IFS gym squad, our display was thrown into disarray.
With spirits low and students ready to quit I knew a pep talk was in order. On Wednesday I called an emergency gym practice session and told them all that it was time to “go big or go home”. As with many situations when your back is against the wall, it was time to take a deep breath and shine!
The students could not of made me more proud on the day. They absolutely nailed the timing of each movement and really put on a great display for their parents and their peers. I really enjoyed seeing their smiling faces and sharing in their sense of achievement.
Having introduced gymnastics and basketball last term, I’m looking to introduce a few more sporting activities in term three.

I didn’t get to see it but heard they did well.
I am especially impress with my daughter, Tennille who did a solo gymnastics routine.
Amazing how after just 1 term at IFS her confidence has grown!
