It’s only four and a half months ago that our awesome college opened its doors. Going through my emails the other day I stumbled across one from Paul saying, “only two days to go before our amazing adventure begins”. Here we are, nearly halfway through our first year and we continue to go from strength to strength. Every day I come into work I am continually reminded what a fantastic situation myself and our students are in. Yesterday I had the joy of watching our year 5/6 at a Futsal competition. While the results weren’t quite what the students wanted, what I noticed was that their sportsmanship and conduct was that of utmost professionalism. The students behaved like champions and were gracious in defeat (and their skills were incredible). Well done year 5/6, you made IFS so proud.
A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to attend a course on autism and aspergers. It was run by Sue Larky who is an absolute legend in this field. She was amazing and if anyone seeking information about these conditions gets the opportunity to hear her, they should grab it. We do have students at our college with these conditions and in the next couple of blogs I will be touching on this topic.
