24 Hour Cycle Challenge
On Thursday the 30th Gavin, Andre, Blake and Bailey took Andre’s bus down to Genisis gym at Gosford to pick up the three bikes for our challenge. With slight delay of loading the bikes, soon after they were set up in the conference room ready for our challenge starting at 3pm. Everyone was enthusiastic and excited for the journey ahead, with the first three starting the challenge. As the hours went on and the distance progressed, the IFS cycling team was beginning to feel the burn, but continued to dig deep with each others encouragement. Around 12pm, a few people started to relax during there break and try and get some sleep although many went the whole 24 hours without it. 9am Friday morning, Gavin calculated the distance we had to make by 3pm and it worked out to be a tight time frame to make the 2000km, so with a helping hand from students, everyone pushed out as hard as they could and at 3pm the task was complete. Students and staff were all proud of everyone who participated in the event, raising money for our college. A big thanks to Genisis Gym Gosford for donating the bikes for us to participate in the ride.
