It’s twelve months ago, this week, that I announced me retirement from professional football. One of the hardest things I have ever had to do was to let go, once and for all, a dream I had held since a young boy.
A year on and I couldn’t be happier with the path I am now on. The IFS journey has been an amazing ride – witnessing one man’s dream, become a concept, become a reality. I wake up every morning excited to go to work with a fantastic bunch of young boys and girls who share the same dream I once had. Not to mention the fantastic staff, in particular, the football department, who passionately strive for world’s best practice in youth development each and every day.
Even today, people often ask me, “How do you cope with not playing anymore?” They are often surprised at the answer. I’ve no regrets and even if I had the chance, I wouldn’t change a thing. Life’s grand, bring on the next twelve months.
Well done there Brad I still remember you as a young lad with Alan Bourke. All the best for the future. Coaching can be as rewarding as playing
You deserve it Bradley, most talented up n coming coach I know. Not a bad bloke either 😉 happy anniversary
