Enjoying lunch in our cafe, I had an interesting chat with some IFS staff during the week. The question was asked of me, “What happens if we don’t get Board of Studies approval?”
With a little smile on her face, one of the teachers involved in the conversation, responded, “Do you not know Paul yet?”
This exchange made me think long and hard about the challenges people face and how their mindset can be the difference between success and failure. When it comes to Board of Studies approval, the thought of not succeeding had not even entered my mind. We have no other option but to succeed.
I once heard someone say that the word “try” means to fail with dignity. I love this quote and, as a teacher, have used it many times with my students. Making the decision to DO something, rather than to TRY, can make all difference you need.
