After a week of collating pupil’s work and reflecting on what has been produced so far, I realise that we have developed some great ‘independent’ learners who have created some fabulous projects. On the other hand, some students are not pushing themselves academically and are happy to just cruise through each day doing the bare minimum. Such pupils are being closely monitored and mentors will be checking in on a regular basis to ensure standards improve.
I am looking forward to the Mariners game tomorrow and expect our pupils to make an exceptional impression on the general public. A great relationship is being forged between IFS and the Mariners and this can only lead to football on the Coast becoming stronger and more prominent.
Finally I am personally monitoring inappropriate iPad usage in class. Pupils will be given three warnings before I delete all games/non-college apps and offenders lose the use of their iPads out of college hours. I would appreciate parental support in this matter as the constant waste of class time by some students is having a direct effect on the quality of work produced.
