I am going to start this weeks blog with a quote from Nelson Mandella. After all the ordeals and years of standing up against the regime his simple conclusion was that “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”
As a teacher at IFS I feel privileged to help shape the future of our students. Each day we are all faced with problems that need to be resolved and each day we also deal with a number of emotions ranging from frustration to joy. I am looking to equip our pupils with the best ‘coping mechanism’ to not only get through their teenage lives but to ensure they excel in every aspect of their life!
Similar to my own experiences, all our pupils come from a sporting background and therefore have that ‘can do’ attitude and are always willing to take challenges head on. I am a firm believer that playing sport sets an individual up perfectly for life’s ups and downs. Team work, confidence, competitiveness, leadership and perseverance are all characteristic traits needed to be successful in a lifetime.
At IFS I believe the mixture of regular sporting activity and high quality teaching and learning will create “winners” in life, no matter what career path our students endeavour to follow.
