With the Easter long weekend upon us and the end of term approaching it has been evident this week that students are starting to wind down.
We have had a pretty intense maths week with stage 4 which has really challenged some students. The introduction of ‘maths online’ next term will provide students with additional support to cover the mathematics syllabus. Next week pupils will use what they learnt in geography, maths and science to design and budget for a new water park that incorporates all three project three modules.
I am baffled to where this term has gone as it only feels like yesterday we were preparing for our launch day! I have learnt many things in term one which will help my project design and teaching methods in term two. With continued research, training and evaluation I intend to remain at the cutting edge of education by providing all students with enjoyable, challenging and interactive projects that enable students to flourish at IFS.
Next term we will be embracing PBL further with a fully integrated nine week project that encompasses a variety of subjects. We have also been provided with quite a vast space within Mount Penang Gardens for our students to show us their design skills and work ethic. The college teaching sessions will also split with students focusing on a number of subjects in the morning and afternoon as oppose to a week long individual subject proposal.
I would like to wish you all a safe and happy Easter!
