This week stage 4 have focused on various aspects of their science project. They are investigating forms of water and how it effects our every day life. As we move towards a fully integrated iPad teaching approach I will be purposely setting some hand written tasks this week to ensure students do not rely on ‘spell check’ for all of their assessment work.
Through the mentoring program my group will look at why it is important to have a sense of humour and what are the physical and mental benefits of laughing. These sessions have proved invaluable for forging close bonds with students and making sure they are aware that the communication channel is always available for any issues pupils may be facing.
We are in the early stages of planning an IFS golf day to raise some funds for next term so watch this space as I will be emailing staff and parents soon to gage a general interest and get this prestigious event underway.
This week I would like to share one of my favourite quotes that I shared with some pupils to prove that hard work, and a diligent attitude will always serve you well in life,
“Two little mice fell in a bucket of cream. The first mouse quickly gave up and drowned. The second mouse, wouldn’t quit. He struggled so hard that eventually he churned that cream into butter and crawled out. Gentlemen, as of this moment, I am that second mouse.” Christopher Walken
