We combine the latest research with our unique learning model to deliver the best possible learning experience – both in the classroom and on the field, court, or in the studio. Our approach ensures every student athlete graduates with the skills they need to excel in life.

Our college is fully registered by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) adhering to their mandatory curriculum requirements for Kindergarten through to Year 12.

Pre-Kindy Club

Our Pre-Kindy Club welcomes future young student athletes and their families as they prepare for Kindergarten at CCSC. During term time, children engage in a vibrant exploration of the college, establishing new friendships and building the confidence needed to excel in both sport and education. This welcoming environment lays a strong foundation for their future success, encouraging them to thrive in every aspect of their development.

CCSC Play Program

As part of our Kindergarten application process, the CCSC Play Program is designed to introduce student athletes to fun, engaging activities. Led by our Pre-Kindy and coaching staff, these sessions encourage social interaction, teamwork and a love for participation.

As the first stage of our application process, your child is invited to attend four play sessions during Term 1 (sport and classroom based experiences). These sessions help us to get to know your child and build a strong foundation for their future at CCSC.

Kindergarten

Our Kindergarten program blends comprehensive literacy and numeracy education with engaging play-based learning and exploration. Dedicated early childhood teachers craft meaningful learning experiences that celebrate the diverse backgrounds of our families and community. This holistic approach supports academic, social and emotional development and prepares our young learners for a bright future.

We encourage students to learn at their own pace through intentional play-based investigations. Daily mindfulness, nutrition and physical activities support your child’s development, ensuring they grow academically, physically, and emotionally.

Each day includes sports sessions offering a variety of activities like gymnastics, swimming, tennis, dancing, football and more, to encourage teamwork and instil a love for physical movement.

Junior College

Our Junior College delivers an approved curriculum from Kindergarten to Year 6, implementing the Walker Learning Pedagogy, ensuring your child meets mandatory educational standards while preparing for life beyond the classroom. At the core of our Junior College is the emphasis on strong relationships, with Homeroom teachers maintaining regular communication with families to cultivate a collaborative partnership in your child’s development. This supportive environment empowers students to thrive academically and socially, laying the groundwork for their future success.

Our innovative program incorporates the Walker Learning Pedagogy. Walker Learning is an evidence-based framework developed by renowned early childhood educator Kathy Walker offering experiential, play-based, and inquiry-based learning from Kindergarten to Year 6. Students engage in real, relevant and meaningful experiences that encourage exploration, collaboration and reflection.

Senior College

Our Senior College focuses on developing well-educated student athletes, leaders and community ambassadors.

Big Picture Learning

Our Sports College is proud to offer Big Picture Learning to our senior students. Big Picture Learning is an educational model focusing on personalised, student-centred learning, where students spend 1-2 days a week working on real-world projects based on their interests. Mentored by experts, they gain hands-on work experience to support their education.

This approach empowers student athletes in Years 7-12 to drive their own learning. In advisories of up to 24 students, each learner works with an adviser to plan and manage their academic journey. Through internships they connect classroom learning to industry-based opportunities. By Years 11 and 12, our student athletes refine their interests to build a post-school pathway for further study or employment, ensuring they are prepared for success after school.

100% of student athletes who have pursued university following their studies at CCSC have been accepted into their course of choice.

Family involvement is key, with regular learning plan meetings and exhibitions each term to showcase growth. Their achievements are compiled in a graduation portfolio, reflecting readiness for further study, employment, or entrepreneurship.

LTI (Learning Through Interests/ Internship)

A major part of the Big Picture Learning model is the LTI process, which fosters meaningful engagement between student athletes and professionals in the workplace.

Central to the student athletes’ personalised learning plan, the LTI experience is where student athletes attend a workplace at least one day per week (preferably Fridays). These internships are matched to student athletes’ interests and are supported by project-based work that connects back to academic and personal goals.

The LTI process benefits both student athletes and employers. Student athletes gain invaluable real-world experience, develop workplace skills and apply academic learning in practical settings. Employers have the opportunity to mentor and inspire young learners while supporting the development of future talent in their field.

At Central Coast Sports College, undertaking an internship in the community is an integral part of the educational design. It’s a process we call ‘Learning to Leave’.

Garang Kuol life at ccsc

I really enjoyed my time at Central Coast Sports College. I couldn’t have wished for a better environment. CCSC really helped me develop as a person and as an athlete.

Through CCSC I was able to find a great balance between studying and playing football (soccer). The students and staff were really welcoming and understanding which made it easier for me to reach my goals in playing professionally whilst being in school.

Annalise Rasmussen Life at ccsc

During my time at CCSC, I had the opportunity to explore my interests beyond football through the Big Picture program. While football has always been a significant part of my life, I was eager to discover what other opportunities might be available to me off the field. CCSC allowed me to grow as a footballer while also helping me explore potential paths for my future beyond the sport.
