The CCSC Athletic Development Program approach is athlete first, specific skills second. By building a strong athletic base we can better equip our young athletes to endure and compete in whichever sports they choose to pursue. One key focus is to minimize the injury toll across the college through pre-screening protocols and providing the students with a broad base of athletic ability to prepare their bodies for the impact of competition. The athletic development department will also cater for any students with injuries throughout the year, helping them complete physiotherapy recovery routines whilst remaining actively engaged in their sporting group.
Performance goes beyond physical capabilities and the CCSC Athletic Development program offers performance training in nutrition, mental toughness and athletic body management. Our ADP promotes athletic progression, character development, and overall personal development. Our goal is to help each student reach their full potential in sport and life, while preparing them to take on all of life’s challenges. We will be utilising GPS and timing technology to track our athletes’ progression throughout the college year. In addition to this Exercise Physiologists will conduct functional movement screens with students to generate individual reports that will clearly identify any potential signs of injuries so that we can best support our athletes in remaining competitive whilst taking care of their growing bodies.
