College Football Program
Modelled on the best youth development programs worldwide, the CCSC Football Program is an integrated, holistic, age and stage specific program aimed at optimum student-athlete development.
The training methodology is focused on individual development. Our curriculum provides a strong foundation with a step-by-step progressive plan that enables players to achieve ball mastery and develop the qualities and skill-set required for higher level competition.
We have developed our approach to meet the needs of the student-athlete and the competition structure externally to ensure all development areas are covered. Each week of the football program can look different depending on the time of year, student age, weather conditions, etc, however the program delivers technical training sessions, match tactical awareness, physical conditioning, futsal, multi-sport training, recovery sessions and yoga.
Training the Whole Person
In addition to a detailed technical and tactical curriculum, student-athletes are monitored and developed physically dependent on three stage of maturity. They are also educated about the importance of recovery, sleep, nutrition, psychology and mindset – all elements that are pivotal to sporting excellence and peak performance.
Games Program
CCSC students gain match practice through training and representing the college in cup competitions, tournaments and friendly matches.
Futsal
Part of the college football program introduces our students to Futsal and forms an important component of our training program. Top Brazilians like Pele, Zico, Socrates and Ronaldo, and closer to home Australian star Tom Rogic, all attribute their soccer success to playing futsal. Sanctioned by FIFA, futsal is a fast paced, 5-a-side indoor version of football. Using a smaller ball in a more confined space, frequency of touches is increased and players are forced to make quick decisions, developing skills at a rapid rate. Our students attend some futsal training throughout the college year and compete in college tournaments.
Head of Football and our Coaches
HOF Brad Porter leads our football program at CCSC. Brad is well respected for his approach to coach and player development and is previously a Central Coast Mariners player. CCSC offers access to some of this country’s best coaches – the likes of former Matildas Julie Dolan and Servet Uzunlar, former Mariners players André Gumprecht and Adam Kwasnik. These coaches not only bring a wealth of technical knowledge and qualifications, but they also bring a positive strength based approach to player development.
