I have had the pleasure of coaching a squad of boys this year who have been a great group to work with throughout the season. With a tough Kanga Cup experience against some excellent teams from around the country, they showed a lot of resilience and desire to play the game under trying conditions.
The Central Coast Football U11A competition has been a good learning environment for this group who have often had to endure 9v9 games with no substitutes and at times with less than 9 starters. To their credit, they adjusted positions and applied the sorts of efforts that produced results. Of course this wasn’t always the case and losing to strong opposition provided tough lessons.
By the end of the season this team was able to combine well enough to make it through the final game of the season on a winning note. They managed to win with a good display of football befitting a champion A grade side. These boys are well on their way to becoming very good footballers if they choose to continue working hard to improve on and off the field.
