Stage 4 have been working through a Water unit in Science and Geography this term. After several experiments to determine how the environment extracts and filters water the students set about designing their own unique devices that households or individuals could use to produce and clean water during the lean times of drought.
Some impressive and innovative designs were produced, from miniature, transportable greenhouse boxes that capture transpiration from plants, to grey water recycling systems and – while the prototypes still needed some refinement – they worked rather well.
Now on to the patents office…
